FISHBOOK ORIGINS
Sustainable development is surely one of the most important challenges that our society had to overcome over these years. Finding a balance between environment and population growth is very challenging nowadays.
So how can we preserve our environment while responding to society challenges ? Perhaps promoting small scale artisanal fishing can preserve species from extension and as a matter of fact our environment.
Promoting small artisanal fishing had been defined as one of the 17 goals of the sustainable development that the United Nation have set to build a better future for everypne. In this perspective, we were very interested to deal with this subject.
THEME MINDMAP
First of all, we have to create mindmaps to show our exploration and our vision of our mandatory assignment "Promote small-scale artisanal fishing".
Realizing a mind map is definitely the first step to create our app. Indeed, we have explored a great variety of resources and structured our reasoning process with a critical thinking.
Here you can find our mindmap :
THE ISSUE
Fishermen have always been suffering from a lack of visibility. Indeed, they are victims of industrial fishing that is growing up day after day.
Besides, people aren't aware of the daily life of fishermen, of all the difficulties that they face everyday. Last but not least, fishing is considered nowadays as a traditional sector that is not on phase with our society.
So how can we make it more adequate to our society? How can we facilitate interaction between clients and fishermen?
SERVICE OFFERED
We would like to develop a space for exchange and sharing between small scale fishermen and consumers. So we opted for an application that acts as a social network and a marketplace at the same time.
Fishermen can share about themselves and make themselves known by the people who live in the area, or even by tourists. These exchanges can be done on the platform and thus fishermen can develop a real network and establish relationship with restaurants for example.
In addition, fishermen can share what they have fished and have pre orders made to those who wish to do so.
Pre-ordering can also be useful for restaurants and their more consequential needs. Thus, the fisherman share their catch of the day , their subscribers pre-order and come to the auction to collect the fresh fish and and meet the fisherman in question.
IDENTITY
In a context where artisanal fishermen have difficulty differentiating themselves from industrial fishing, this application aims to highlight the fruit of their work. It is also
a platform for them to be in direct contact with their customers.
However, it's not just a sales application but it is also intended to make the environment known for fishermen and allow them
to create a social network around fishing enthusiasts.
From another part, in our app fishermen can share their catch of the day, their biggest fishing and all the moments that touched them.
The purpose of this app is double: on the one hand, it allows
tourists to discover more closely fish ressources and on the orther hand, it improves the network of fishermen so they can get more market share.
TARGET
Thanks to our Fishbook app, we want to help small local fisherman gain visibility. Indeed, they suffer from a lack of visibility in the highly competitive fishing market and they have a little presence on social networks.
This will allow them to increase their sales and create new links with local fishing and buyer communities. On Fishbook, they will be able to share their daily lives, communicate with the community and sell their products in a quick and easy way.
On the other hand, our application is also for local customers, tourists and restaurators whether they are passionate of fishing or not. They will be able to discover the often unknown daily life of local fishermen and buy their fish remotely with a simple click.
In addition, it is a valuable time for restaurators who will no longer have to travel to their morning auction.
OUR COMPETITORS
There aren't any application that proposes the same service as Fishbook. We can find a lot of websites where we can buy fish but not application. The only app that exists
nowadays is " Mon PĂȘcheur".
In this app, you can just order your fish and buy it but you can't contact fishermen or see videos or film about the daily life of fishermen. We propose
to our customers to buy fish in the app but also create a relationship with others.
Then we use figma in order create wireframes design, prototype and collaborate. Figma is the perfect UX/UI tool for designing our mobile app. We decide to structure all the elements without interior design treatments.
We tried to avoid color,fo choices or any real design element that take away frome purely focusing on our site's structure.
Our wireframs are equivalent of the skeleton of our app. We used them to describe the functionality of our product as well as relations between views. Creating wireframes was really helpful to take the decision on our content/features and where to put on the app.
The last that we had to do is the mockup of our project thanks to the figma tool.
Mockups demonstrators of our concept.
Based on the definitions and wireframe already done they will allow us to easily get end-use feedbacks.
They are really useful because they prov a medium-fidelity representation of Fishbook.
